My open studio project is both site specific and a sort of revisit of a version of myself as a young artist. In the mid 1990s I visited New York many times with hopes and visions for a life as a professional artist. Dreaming of success together with friends and other striving young artists, I wondered if I had the talent and strength to build a career and make it in the city “that never sleeps”.
Throughout three decades of work, I have at certain times used my studio as a motif or a framework for making sculptures and installations. Taking a closer look at these works I find that they define and represent important moments in my life.
